Sweet Girlies

Maddie loves going to Grandma and Grandpa Carpenter's. She always has such a great time, she especially loves to play with Ashely and Lobo-their dog. We were able to stay with them for a few days after we went to Disneyland over Spring break.
This is Olivia after her bath, we just ran the towel over her head to dry her hair a little bit and poof!
In case you didn't get enough the first time!

A little more Disneyland...

This was while we were waiting for the parade. We had waited for a long time and people kept standing in front of us, or trying to scootch us out of the way. We wouldn't budge and it's a good thing we had the best seats in the house. The parade makes two stops and they do a little show, the second stop was right in front of us! We couldn't have asked for better seats without riding on one of the floats!
Emma and Maddie doing a little dance while waiting for the parade to start.

Matthew, Maddie and Ryan such cute friends!
This is the best picture of my life! Maddie's expression makes me want to explode, I think she might explode herself! She had never been so excited in her life, to see the parade with all of the princesses, and characters and music and dancing. It's like a dream come true, Disneyland was one of our greatest memories as a family, to see it all through your own babies eyes is unbelievable. We can't wait to take the girls again!

The last picture of the night, we wanted to get a picture with Mickey all day and long story short...here it is. The kids were so tired, and sweet little Maddie couldn't fight it any more. This was such a fun day, thanks again to Mel and Nathan for letting us stay with them. We are so excited for our next big Disneyland adventure!

Disneyland

We had the most fun visiting family and friends over Matt's Spring break from school. These pictures are from our trip to Disneyland it was Maddie's first time, and she had a blast! We went with Liz's sister Mel and her three kids, and after getting a late start due to traffic, we literally parked our cars, got the strollers loaded and the heavens opened up! It started to rain!! Lucky for us it stopped right after we got off the tram and into the park...thank goodness.
We planned to meet up with The Green's too while we were there. For those of you who don't know them, they are some of our dental student friends, Jordon and Matt are in the same class and Maddie and Kinley are just the best of friends. Emma got along great with Kinley too and the girls had a blast! It was so fun to have the Green's there! This picture is the girls on "Its a Small World".
This is truly hilarious -and amazing- Maddie is smiling in a picture! Maddie is impossible to get a smiling picture of (especially with the lovely delay of digital cameras) she loves to ignore the constant pleas of "Maddie, look at mom, please smile like a princess, come on silly girl let me see you laugh like this"...then I try some silly sound to get her to look and still nothing... she usually says cheese, but will she smile? She won't even look up from what she is so fascinated with. She just says cheese a million times and pulls her lower lip back and almost frowns! Hopefully it is just a phase!!! Anyway, this picture warms my heart and if you all only knew how exhausted she was you would know and this is not laughter but perhaps a little more like delirium! :) We love our happy Maddie and she sure felt like a princess. This picture was taken at the "Princess Coronation Ceremony" where the kids listened to Cinderella read a story, decorate crowns, and then learn to dance like princes and princesses. Jasmin, Cinderella and Snow White were there too. It was so great!
It started to rain again so we took the kids to see the Honey I shrunk the audience show...it was really fun, but a little intense. Not all of the kids wore their glasses and not all of them made it through to the end of the show...but they sure look cute in their glasses!
This is Maddie and Liz waiting in line to ride Dumbo. Maddie loves Dumbo, so this was like a dream come true. She squeeled with delight for the entire ride and then cried when it was over!

Yay for babies!

Liz took this picture of Matt, doesn't he look good and not at all overwhelmed sitting there with five kids? We can totally handle five kids...We'll see! Anyway, we love cousins!! This was taken the night before we went to Disneyland and the kids were so excited to be together. We can't wait to live closer so we can play more often. For those of you who don't know these are Liz's sister Mel's kids and our kids, from the left Maddie, Emma, Olivia Matthew, (on Matt)and Ryan.

Picnic with the Henry's

Sweet little Olivia braving the wind! Maddie squeeling with delight, she is such a silly girl! She had so much fun chasing the kite.

This was such a fun day! The girls and I and my sister Alisha went shopping with Ashley Henry for maternity clothes in the morning and then we had a picnic down at Crissy Field. I think it was supposed to be a super warm day and instead it was sooo cold and windy we had to park the cars aroud our blanket so they would help block the wind. Maddie was so cold, she would take little retreats to Dan and Ash's car to warm up while we ate! After we ate we played a little frisbee, but the funnest thing we did was fly Maddie's kite. She loved it and Matt and Dan were such good sports helping her, letting her hold the strings and helping the kite take off. She had a blast...I guess the wind isn't so bad after all.

Maddie's Birthday Party

Maddie on her new bike!! She was so excited and is working really hard on pedaling. We are so proud of our girl, she seems so old, time flies...
Maddie and Brock (she refers to him as a "boyfriend"), riding bikes...so awesome
Yay! It's Birthday Cake! The kids made a great team blowing out the candles.
Blake-Brock's brother and Olivia just hanging out...what a fun day for everyone!

Maddie's Third Birthday!

This is Maddie after she took herself to the bathroom on the morning of her Birthday, she thought this was so great that history has repeated itself more than once since!
Here is her beautiful cake, our friends Dan and Ashley helped us bake and decorate it, Maddie loved it she was so excited!
Before going to her party at the park Maddie played with balloons that Dan and Ashley brought over...

Olivia wanted to get in on the fun too!

Ray was in town and was able to come visit for a little while. He brought Maddie a birthday present from the Carpenters, it was a birthday dress for her baby doll and a matching dress for her. Maddie just loved it, she plays with her doll all the time! She is such a good little mommy.

This was Olivia's first haircut, she was seven months old here and needed a cut so bad!

Just a few fun pictures of the girls. They love each other so much and have so much fun together. Olivia can't get enough of watching her sister, and Maddie loves to boss her around... we'll see what happens when Olivia becomes more mobile!

That first picture of Maddie makes us laugh so hard, she is so funny. So this was the day she got her cast on, she was so brave. She called the cast a "big band-aid" and the sling her "purse". She was so good about wearing her sling and not scratching inside her cast. Luckily she only needed to wear the cast for two weeks. This is also the first time we gave Olivia rice cereal and she loved it!! She loves to eat, so she packs it all in pretty quick, which is great for us.

The saddest thing happened, we were all eating dinner and Maddie had gotten up from the table then turned around to come back, (she was trying to hurry because we had been trying to get her to stay at the table and finish eating) she slipped while trying to climb into her chair. She fell right on her elbow and we weren't sure at the time but found out the next day that she broke her arm! She fractured it in two places and the sweet little thing slept the whole night that night without any tylenol or anything, she would wake up occasionaly and cry a little because she couldn't move onto her side. Anyway Matt took this picture, I wanted to lay with her for a while until she fell asleep and I guess her breaking her arm wore me out too!

My sister Jess and I went to Temecula to watch our sister Mel's kids while she and her husband took a little vacation, there were five kids in all and it was crazy! It was really a fun week, Maddie loved playing with her cousins constantly, and having sleepovers with Emma in her bed! We wish we lived closer...
This is Maddie "riding" on Ryan and Wendy's (Liz's bro. and his wife) new dog Scout. Maddie loves dogs and Scout was no exception, she often refers to him as the "reindeer doggie"...

We spent Christmas with the Clarks this year, it was so fun to be together. My sister Mel and her family couldn't make it and we sure missed them!! Maddie and her cousin Brenley had so much fun playing. These pictures are of their culinary masterpieces made with playdough in Grandmas kitchen.

Thanksgiving '06 The Carpenter's and Amy and Jared came up for Thanksgiving weekend. It was so fun to hang out and eat yummy food. We even had an early Christmas celebration, and exchanged gifts, it was a really great weekend. It's always so fun to get together!
